Simbi’s Story

Simbi is the DuoLingo of business education apps. The app seeks to provide essential business knowledge to people in with limited access to business education, bridging the gap between means and opportunity to start or grow a self-sustaining business.

Simbi uses a lessons and quizzes structure to help people of all ages learn how they can start their own business in virtually any economic context.

The founders needed design help to redesign the app experience (onboarding, menu, lessons, and quizzes) based on the research they had gathered with 100 test users from their first developed version of the app - boosting their brand experience in-app updating screens and flows for UX best practices to bring energy and usability to the second app iteration.

My Redesigned Screens

I boosted the energy by creating new styles and increasing the content hierarchy.

I also introduced a new “hints” pattern where Simbi the giraffe talks to the user and offers contextual hints and encouragement in each lesson.
